It Ain’t Over Yet

Game 5 did not disappoint last night. Toronto had the home crowd rocking and ready to celebrate the Raptors first NBA Championship but it wasn’t meant to be. Demarcus Cousins played well coming off the bench scoring 14 points and 6 rebounds. Kawhi Leonard went on a 10 point run late in the 4th and put the Raptors in a good spot to win with a little over 3 minutes left in the game. Then the Splash Brothers did their thing hitting 3 straight 3-pointers and Draymond Green deflected Lowry’s attempt to win it with a buzzer-beater.

Game 6 will be played at Oracle Arena and the Warriors will have to play without Durant after he apparently tore his achilles in the 2nd quarter. This devastating injury could keep Durant out until late next year and it’s possible that he’ll miss the entire year. This is huge especially since he was projected to leave Golden State this offseason. He holds a player option but it is expected that some teams may be willing to sign him this offseason and wait for Durant to recover. Cousins had some words about the way the Raptors fans reacted when Durant went down.
