Kentucky vs. Missouri Post Game Thoughts

What a fun game! The rain was pouring down and it acted like the 12th man on defense (maybe the 13th man given the loud, wild, and wet crowd). Kentucky’s defense was outstanding again. The 0-0 1st quarter helped the Cats gain momentum and settle in. Bowden started and played most of the game. He not only played well but he was a superstar! He is now our leading rusher and receiver on the team and he is throwing some good looking balls out there too. Gran called a great game on offense but Bowden made the plays that mattered. One thing to note is when Lynn saw himself on the video board he made sure to show everyone how much fun he was having. Very Benny Snell like. This is the first time you’re seeing that and we saw last year that it can be contagious.

Looking forward we have 4 winnable games and the possibility for a 8 win season is there. Our defense is key and the way they are playing is nothing short of amazing. Max Duffy made a huge play when a punt play broke down and he saw an open field in front of him and took off for an easy 26 yards. His ability to flip the field gives our defense a chance to play bend but don’t break and so far that works most of the time. We won the time of possession battle and was able to keep our defense fresh and that’ll be key the rest of the season. Overall great game and with the bye week this coming weekend, we have a chance to get healthy and rested before a big game with Tennessee.
