Kentucky vs. Michigan State Post Game Thoughts

Defense wins again! Kentucky played well on the defensive side of the ball yet again and I expect that to be the trademark of this team. The Wildcats had 16 turnovers and Cassius Winston accounted for 3 of those. Kentucky also had three big blocks and caused Michigan State to get into foul trouble early. Kentucky shot 32 free throws compared to the Spartans 18. They not only shot a lot from the stripe, they hit them when they got up there. 78.1% was better than the 73.9% they shot all of last season. Tyrese Maxey had himself a game last night! His 26 points off the bench was exactly what Kentucky needed to see and he sure looked like he was having a whole lot of fun in the spotlight. Kentucky moves on to EKU on Friday night and the outlook for the Wildcats looks to be bright with our next ranked opponent being Ohio State at the end of December. Wildcats should be on top for a long while this year!
