Kentucky had their first road game of the season after starting the season with a 67-44 win over Mount St. Mary’s this past Tuesday.
Turnovers were a problem for the Cats early in the game and MTSU took advantage to score four points, with a 5-2 lead. The Blue Raiders would extend their lead to 7-2 before the Cats got a 3 to make it 7-5. Kentucky would get within one. MTSU takes the first quarter with a 10-8 over the Cats.
Blue Raiders to score first in the second quarter leading 12-8. But Rhyne Howard answered with a 3 and then Jaida Roper would tie it up at 12-12. Kentucky took the lead 14-12 and would extend it to 18-12. MTSU would get within two, but Paschal would hit two for Kentucky to have a 22-18 lead at the half.
Kentucky would start out the third quarter hot and would score the first thirteen points to take a 35-18 lead. They would extend the lead even more to 45-23. They outscored MTSU 31-18 and hit 13 out of 20 shots.
The Blue Raiders wouldn’t go away easily as they started the fourth quarter scoring the first five points and went on a 15-4 run to cut the Cats lead 53-41. Kentucky answered with a 11-2 run to win 67-52.
Kentucky wins their first road game of the season 67-52 and they go 2-0.
