13 Kentucky blasts pass Morehead State to stay undefeated

13th ranked Kentucky started a seven home game sand tonight taking on intrastate rival Morehead State and looked to continue their undefeated streak.

Kentucky started off the first quarter on a 5-0 on a layup and 3 pointer. Morehead State gets on board with free throws. Rhyne Howard with a 3 and the Cats are up 10-2. They go on a 10-0 run for a 22-18 lead, Howard scored 5 in a row as a part of that. Kentucky leads 27-13 after the first.

The Wildcats start the second quarter with back to back 3’s by Howard and Haines, 33-13. They lead by as many as 24 on several occasions. They would take a 48-24 lead into the half.

Kentucky would build up a 31 advantage on defense pressure by forcing turnovers and converting them 8 points, 59-28. That would eventually balloon up to 34. Rhyne Howard scored 11 points and took a 71-43 lead after 3 quarters.

They would lead by 32 before taking a 79-54 victory to move them to 5-0 in the season.

Kentucky hosts Grambling State next Tuesday at 7 p.m. ET on SEC Network plus.
