As Kentucky’s schedule continues into December they take on a team that not many have ever heard of, Fairleigh Dickinson. December’s match up will be another first time meeting between Fairleigh Dickinson and Kentucky.
Kentucky has come back after their first lost to Evansville to be 6-1, going 4-0 in the BBN Showcase. Kentucky has only 5 non-conference games left before they start their SEC conference schedule.
This is another small team that Kentucky shouldn’t underestimate as last season the Knights could score from beyond the 3 point line and at the free throw line. They shot 40.1 percent on 3 pointers and 72.5 percent at the line. Their returning junior, Jahlil Jenkins has already scored 847 points in just two seasons, if he’s healthy this season he will surpass the 1,000 point mark. Jenkins led FDU with 4.5 assists, 1.6 steals, and 13.6 points per game last season. The Knights won their conference tournament and a game in the NCAA Tournament last season as well. The Knights look forward to another NCAA Tournament run as they have a solid core this season with Jahlil Jenkins along with starters senior forward Kaleb Bishop and red-shirt junior Xavier Malone-Key are back from last year’s team that won 10 straight games before falling to Gonzaga in the 2019 NCAA Tournament. The Knights add Pennsylvania grad transfer Collin McManus, returning lettermen, and a solid recruiting class, the Knights could be a real NCAA tourney contender this year.
