14 Kentucky blows Winthrop out of the water by 55 points; moves to 10-0

14th ranked Kentucky hosted Winthrop at Rupp Arena; they look to continue their undefeated streak in their mid-week match up. Kentucky blows Winthrop out of the water with a 91-36 win and they are now 10-0.

Winthrop gets on the board first with a layup by Kem Nwabudu. Kentucky would respond with a 3 by Rhyne Howard. Winthrop would take the lead back, 4-3. The Cats would hit three of their first four from behind the arc to have an 11-6 lead. Kentucky would take the lead and keep all the way to the end of the first quarter having a 20 point lead, 32-12.

Kentucky hit five of their seven shots; they would score the first 12 points to give them a 44-12 lead in the second quarter. Wildcats would go on a 10-3 run to have a 54-18 lead at the half. Jaida Roper had 17 points and Rhyne Howard had 12. The Cats would set a season best of 54 points in the half.

Jaida Roper started the third quarter with the first basket but Winthrop would score the next 6 points. Wildcats responded with six points of their own. Wildcats would outscore Winthrop 16-12 and they would have a 70-30 lead after three.

The Wildcats would keep their lead in the fourth going on a 12-2 run and then a late 9-0 run to defeat Winthrop 91-36 and move onto 10-0 in their season.
