Kentucky will travel to Las Vegas to take on Utah at the T-Mobile Arena. Be sure to put on a pot of coffee as we have a late night game being played at 11 p.m. ET. The Wildcats will look to go 9-1 before they take on Ohio State in the CBS Sports Classic and Louisville at home to close their non-conference schedule.
This will be the 13th meeting between Kentucky and Utah. Kentucky has won 10 of 12 games and Utah has won only 2 of 12. Their first meeting was March 20, 1944 and their last was December 15, 2018. Kentucky won both of the match-ups; 46-38 and 88-61.
Just like the Wildcats, the Utes have a young roster as well. They return only five players from last season; they have 10 newcomers to the team. It has been a very hard year for Utah as they have had six players transfer out of the program since last November, which included starting forward Jayce Johnson and Donnie Tillman. The best player and leading scorer on last year’s team, was guard Sedrick Barefield, he averaged 16.8 points and 3.8 assists per game. It will not be easy to replace this scoring. With only one returning scorer the Utes will have to replace plenty of scoring production.
