Kentucky took on Utah in a late night game out west in Las Vegas. Tyrese Maxey gets us on the board first, and Utah gets on the board and takes the lead with a 3, 5-2. The Utes have 10-4 lead over Kentucky. Utes keeps scoring while Kentucky seems to be having a slow night being down 9 points. Tyrese Maxey seems to be heating up here with less than 5 minutes to go in the 1st half, but the Utes still have the lead 31-23. Kentucky goes on an 8-0 run and is within 4 at the half as the Utes still lead 35-31.
Utah starts the second half with free throws, Kentucky gets 2 and they already have 3 fouls. Kahlil Whitney gets Kentucky’s first 3 of the game and Utah’s Jones responds with a 3, Utah still with the lead, 45-36. Utes with their largest lead in the game of 14 points over Kentucky. Kentucky cannot seem to get it together as Utah is just running all over them here in the second half, Utes lead 54-39. The last time Kentucky trailed by 14+ points was March 2, 2019 against Tennessee which they trailed 20. Cats go on a 7-0 run and are within 10 but the lead goes back to 12 but down to 10, 58-48 under 8 minutes. Cats are now within 6 and now 4 as Maxey gets a basket and goes to the line for a free throw. It is a 2 points game, these Cats are coming back, 62-60 Utah. We are tied up here in Las Vegas, 66-66. Despite the valiant effort Kentucky gets handed their second loss of the season to unranked Utah, 69-66
