Kentucky looks to bounce back after Louisville handed them their first loss of the season taking on Cal wrapping up their non-conference schedule.
Lady Bears get things started and Wildcats answer back and they are at 9-4 with a 3 by Chasity Patterson getting her first points of her career at Kentucky. Rhyne Howard gets a 3 and the Cats are up by 8, 12-4. Kentucky has a 12-10 lead after the first quarter.
Wildcats still have the lead in the second quarter with a 16-15 lead. Cal goes on a 6-0 run and the Cats are on a scoring drought to end the second quarter with a tie 22-22.
Jaida Roper starts the third quarter with a layup, 24-22. Cal answers with a layup and Kentucky’s Rhyne Howard does the same thing, Kentucky 26-24. We are tied up with as Cal’s Styles gets both free throws, 26-26. Howard hits a 3 and Kentucky is up by 6, 32-26. Kentucky is up by 10 in the third, 38-28. Cats end the third with a 42-37 lead.
Wildcats keep up the lead in the fourth but California keeps it close in the last few minutes of the game as Kentucky leads 61-58. California ties it up 61-61 with just seconds left in the fourth quarter. Kentucky gets a jumper by Rhyne Howard for the Cats to win 63-61 and wrap up their non-conference schedule with a win.
Kentucky starts their SEC conference by traveling to Columbus, SC and take on South Carolina January 2, 2020 at 7:40 p.m.
