Kentucky is coming off a comeback win on the road against Georgia where we saw them trailing at the half but come back in the second half to get a 78-69 win and start their 2020 SEC play with a 2-0 record.
This matchup between Kentucky and Alabama mark their 152nd meeting between the two schools. Kentucky won the last meeting which was in the 2019 SEC Tournament but Alabama won their regular conference meeting.
Players to watch out for are Kira Lewis who led Alabama with 13.5 points and 2.9 assists, John Petty Jr. led with 4.2 rebounds, and Alex Reese led with 37.5 3PG. Kira Lewis reclassified last year and finished last season on the All-SEC Freshman tea, he had five 20- point games. After Alabama’s disappointing 18-16 and 8-10 season last year, former coach Avery Johnson and the Crimson Tide parted ways. Alabama failed to make to the NCAA Tournament and were knocked out of the NIT in the first round. Alabama’s new head coach Nate Oats isn’t completely rebuilding this team as they have a potential All-SEC point guard, two experience starting guards, and a promising power forward. Add in a grad transfer and top-25 recruiting classes, if they can adjust to Oat’s system don’t be shocked if Alabama makes it to the NCAA Tournament.
