Kentucky traveled to Baton Rouge to take on LSU looking to continue their SEC win streak after winning four straight. LSU snaps the Wildcats 4 game winning streak handing them a 65-59 loss.
LSU with an early 5-0 start to the first quarter as Kentucky can’t seem to score. Sabrina Haines gets Kentucky on the board but LSU scores again to have a 7-2 lead over the Cats. Rhyne Howard scores to get the Cats within one of LSU. LSU keeps adding to their lead 14-8. LSU has a 16-9 after one quarter.
Kentucky starts the second quarter but LSU keeps the lead as they have now doubled Kentucky’s points to have a 24-12 lead. Lady Tigers will hold Kentucky to just 16 points in the second quarter to have a 28-16 lead at halftime.
LSU would continue their dominance over the 3rd and 4th quarter but Kentucky would fight back in both. Rhyne Howard starts the third quarter with a 3 but LSU would extend their lead to 13, 37-24. Lady Tigers would have a 45-27 lead after three quarters of play.
Kentucky starts the fourth quarter on a 5-0 run including a 3. They would end up scoring 32 points in the fourth but it’s not enough as LSU defeats Kentucky 65-59 for them to move to 15-3 overall and 4-2 in SEC.
