Kentucky is looking to bounce back after their road loss to Auburn. They host Mississippi State at Rupp this Tuesday. This will be the 109th meeting. These two schools first played each other in the 1933 SEC Championship game, which Kentucky won with a whopping score of 20-5. Kentucky won the last meeting as well 71-67 on February 9, 2019.
Bulldogs will look to make a run for the NCAA Tournament this year as the last two season have not gone in their direction, but with the talent returning and the freshmen coming in they just may have what it take. This team is still rebuilding after they lost 3 players last season, Aric Holman and Quinndary Weatherspoon graduated and Lamar Peters left for the NBA Draft. The three combined for 40 points and 13 rebounds per game. One player to keep an eye on is sophomore, Reggie Perry, he averaged 9.7 points and 7.2 rebounds last season, joining him is junior Nick Weatherspoon with his 2.3 assists, and junior KeyShawn Feazell with his 50.0 3PG.
Kentucky has won the last 13 matchups; the last time Mississippi State won was February 3, 2009.
