Kentucky bounces back with win over Mississippi State

Kentucky looks to bounce back after their upset road loss to Auburn this past weekend, they are back home and host Mississippi State.

 Both teams start the first half not able to score until Tyrese Maxey goes down the court and scores the first point for Kentucky, and the Cats start the game on a 7-0 run. Mississippi State finally scores and they hit a 3 and now have tied it up 9-9. Immanuel Quickley with a much needed 3 for the Cats to go ahead 12-9.  Kentucky has doubled their score and their lead is 8, 24-16. Kentucky leads 31-23 at the half.

Kentucky starts the second half with free throws from Nick Richards, and a basket by Miss St. More free throws by Nick Richards and the Cats with the lead, 40-31.  Kentucky keeps their lead up and they are up by 10, Nick Richards make it 12 for a 58-46.  Bulldogs have cut the lead down to 6, 60-54.  Even when Mississippi State start getting close, Kentucky has an answer and keeps the lead, 70-60. Kentucky gets the bounce back win over Mississippi State 80-72. Nick Richards with a new career high of 27 points.

Kentucky travels to Knoxville this Saturday to take on Tennessee at 1 p.m. ET on CBS
