Kentucky is coming off a 77-64 win over Tennessee and they come back on the road traveling to Nashville to take on the Commodores looking to sweep the season series winning the first one at Rupp Arena 71-62. Vanderbilt finally snapped their 28 SEC game losing streak when they defeated LSU 99-90 this past week.
Tuesday marks the 196th meeting between Kentucky and Vanderbilt. Kentucky has 148 wins, Vanderbilt with just 47. They first met on February 22, 1912 which resulted in a Wildcat win of 28-17. They last met January 29, 2019, with Kentucky at Vanderbilt and the Wildcats won 87-52. The Commodores have lost 11 straight, their last win was back in 2007.
Vanderbilt is without their leading scorer Aaron Nesmith who is out indefinitely with a foot injury, without him they don’t seem to have the firepower to keep up with most of the SEC. Commodores didn’t have a good season last year either. They lost another player to a meniscus injury just five games into the season lead to a not so good season for Vanderbilt either with a 9-23 overall and 0-18 SEC record. We will see how the fare for the reason of the season.
Kentucky and Vanderbilt go head to head this Tuesday at 6 p.m. ET on ESPN
