Kentucky scores late in sixth to defeat Boise State

The 10th ranked Kentucky softball team is in action again this weekend as they are in Tempe Arizona to take part of the 2020 Littlewood Classic. They start it off with a double header today taking on Boise State first.

Boise State scores first in the top of the 2nd inning taking a 3-0 lead over Kentucky on an obstruction call at home plate and a two- run home run.

Kentucky gets on the board with a RBI from Kayla Kowalik who scores in Bailey Vick. Alex Martens hits a 3 RBI to give the Cats the lead, 4-3 in the bottom of the second

Renee Abernathy hits a home run to give Kentucky 3 more runs here in the bottom of the third inning, 7-3.

Boise State gets an unearned run to make it 7-4.

 Rylea Smith with a RBI to give the Cats another run, 8-4. Home run from Mallory Peyton to give the Cats an 11-4 lead.

Boise State hits a grand slam to left field, a walk with bases loaded , an another grand slam to take a 13-11 lead in the top of the 6th.

Bailey Vick doubles to score in Autumn Humes and Rylea Smith gets a double for the Cats to reclaim the lead in the bottom of the 6th, 14-13. Wildcats stretch the lead to 16-13.

Boise State scores a run in the top of the seventh but Kentucky takes the win, 16-14 to move to 5-0 in the season and start the Littlewood Classic 1-0.

Wildcats play Arizona State in their second game for today at 9 p.m. ET
