Arizona State scores late in extra innings to defeat Kentucky

Kentucky is looking for redemption against the Sun Devils as they handed them their first loss of the season late last night. Kentucky scores first and has a 1-0 lead going into the fifth inning. Arizona State ties it up in the bottom of the seventh. Kentucky sends it to extra innings. Bailey Vick single putting two on bases, Rylea Smith comes behind her with a single as well, an error brings in two runs and Rylea comes from third on an ASU wild pitch to put the Wildcats up 4-1. Arizona State hits a 3 run home run to tie up the game again. No score in the ninth for either team still tied at 4, to the 10th we go. Rylea Smith with a SAC fly to deep left field and Kayla Kowalik scores, Kentucky 5-4. SAC fly for ASU ties up the game again in the bottom of the 10th. Arizona State scores two in the bottom of the 11th for Kentucky’s second loss of 7-5.

Kentucky closes out the weekend taking on Detroit Mercy tomorrow.
