Kentucky gets big win on the road defeating LSU

Kentucky is looking to keep the momentum going after a comeback win over Ole Miss.

EJ Montgomery gets Kentucky on the board first, but LSU responds with a bucket of their own to take the lead but Kentucky ties it up and then the Tigers take the lead back. Kentucky with a basket and Maxey gets his free throw for the Cats to take the lead. LSU with free throws of their own to take the lead right back, 8-7. Nick Richards with a dunk to give the Cats a 9-8 lead, LSU hits a 3 to take it back. Immanuel Quickley at the line for 3 and he makes all three to tie it up. Three by Immanuel Quickley to put the Cats up 16-12.  Back to back 3’s for LSU puts them up 22-20. Cats trail 26-22 and Nate Sestina scores his first points of the game to now have 1,000 career points, 26-24.  Nate Sestina rebounded the ball and throws it to Ashton Hagans for a 3 and the Cats will go into the half with a 29-28 lead.

LSU starts the second half, Ashton Hagans with a 3 for the Cats, 32-30. Johnny Juzang with a 3 for Kentucky and they are up 40-35. Kentucky still with the lead after back to back three’s, it’s up to 50-42. Nate Sestina with a 3 for Kentucky, and Maxey with a basket for the Cats to extend their advantage 58-49.   Nate Sestina with back to back 3’s for Kentucky, they are up 73-61. LSU with a 3 to make it 73-64. Kentucky is 7 for 7 in three pointers this second half. With less than a minute Kentucky is up 78-74. Kentucky defeats LSU 79-76.

Kentucky hosts Florida this Saturday at 5 p.m. ET on ESPN
