Kentucky is coming off a thriller win over LSU on the road. Nate Sestina had a big game that night with back to back three’s and 11 points. Immanuel Quickley joins him with 21 points. Ashton Hagans left during the second half with a left thigh contusion.
Kentucky starts a 4 home game slate as we start to close out the SEC conference play and look toward the post season. First they host Florida this weekend. Kentucky and Florida will meet up for the 142nd time. Kentucky won the first and the last meetings between the two teams. The first meeting was January 3, 1927, Kentucky won 44-36. The last meeting was March 9, 2019, Kentucky won 66-57.
Florida returns All-SEC freshman Andrew Nembhard, they add Virginia Tech grad transfer Kerry Blackshear and Florida could be a top challenger in the SEC conference this season. They are in the top 5 of SEC standings in 4th place with a 9-4 SEC record; Kentucky is in 1st with an 11-2 record. Of course Kentucky and Florida will play each other twice this season. Another player to watch out for is returning sophomore Noah Locke who averaged 9.4 points, 2.3 rebounds, and 40.5 3PG for the Gators.
