Vanderbilt defeats Kentucky to close out regular season

Kentucky closes out their regular season today at Vanderbilt and Vanderbilt would defeat Kentucky 70-64.

Kentucky starts the first quarter with a 3 by Rhyne Howard, Vandy answers with a layup. Vanderbilt takes the lead but Kentucky ties it up at 6. Commodores back in the lead 8-6, Kentucky with two free throws to tie it up again. Vanderbilt with the lead after one, 16-15.

Kentucky starts the second quarter with a jumper to take the lead back, 17-16. Vanderbilt takes it back with back to back layups. It’s all Vanderbilt and they have the lead at the half, 30-29.

Vanderbilt with a layup to start the third quarter, KeKe McKinney with one of their own. Three pointer from Rhyne Howard, Wildcats with the lead, 34-32. Kentucky has the lead after three, 55-46.

 Vanderbilt starts the fourth and do their best to catch up with Kentucky, Wildcats have the lead up till Vanderbilt get it to just one, 61-60. Vanderbilt with a jumper to take the lead back and would eventually defeat Kentucky 70-64 to end the season.

Kentucky gets a double bye a 3 seed in the 2020 SEC Women’s Tournament in Greenville, SC. They will play the winner of Missouri/Ole Miss vs. Tennessee on Friday, March 6 at 8:30 p.m. ET or 25 minutes after the third game.
