With the amount of guys Kentucky has in the league it is inevitable that we will end up with some guys not playing due to injuries. There have been too many season long injuries lately and some of those are coming close to an end. Let’s look at who is currently working to get healthy:
Skal Labissiere – Atlanta Hawks – Knee – Day to Day
Skal has not played a game since getting traded to the Hawks. The Haitian big man has seen an uptick in his production recently and hopefully getting healthy and starting to contribute in Atlanta will help him continue to develop.
Brandon Knight – Detroit Pistons – quad – Game time decision
Knight has surged in Detroit and he’ll likely continue to battle through this issue to capitalize on his recent success.
Tyler Herro – Miami heat – Foot – Could return March 6th
Herro had a lot of success early for Miami. That success has trailed off throughout the season and he has settled in to a role position still getting plenty of meaningful minutes. This injury has already cost Herro the opportunity to compete during the All-Star weekend but it looks like we could see him back very soon.
Karl-Anthony Towns – minnesota timberwolves – wrist – Could return March 6th
Towns fractured his wrist during a game against the Thunder back on January 25th. He played through the pain for a few games until finally getting the right diagnosis and started resting it and is now close to coming back.
Darius Miller – new orleans pelicans – achilles – out for season
Achilles injuries have plagued our guys in the last few years. Cousins lost the 2018 season and John Wall lost this season to the same thing. Miller had just signed a new contract with New Orleans right before this happened so the future does look good for him. The Pelicans have the pieces to be really good and Miller could be a great piece of this team going forward.
Kevin Knox – new York Knicks – leg – game time decision
Knox has been solid all year coming off the bench. This injury is a minor one and hasn’t caused him to miss much time at all yet. I don’t expect him to miss any significant time going forward either.
john wall – washington wizards – achilles – out for season
Wall is looking to get back to rehabbing soon and eyeing a return next season
demarcus cousins – free agents – acl – out for season
Cousins has still been working out with the Lakers even though they waived him to sign another player. He has been ruled out for the rest of the season. Next year will be wonderful to see the guys that have been dealing with these season long injuries.
