Rhyne Howard’s sophomore season at a glance

Kentucky sophomore, Rhyne Howard had a pretty great sophomore season. She scored 633 points, which ranked 5th nationally, 175 rebounds, a program record of 84 3 pointers, 66 assists, 29 blocks, and 62 steals. On top of that she averaged 23.4 points per game, 6.5 rebounds, and 3.1 3 pointers per game during the 2019-2020 season. Rhyne Howard was named the 2020 SEC Player of the Year. She was also named All SEC First Team, All-Defensive Team, and All- Tournament Team. She is a Top 10 Citizen Naismith Trophy Semifinalist, Top 15 John R. Wooden National Ballot, Top 5 Cheryl Miller Award Finalist, WBCA Wade Trophy Midseason Watch list and a Dawn Staley Award Midseason Watch List. She is Kentucky’s first AP First Team All American in program history as well. She was also named a USBWA First Team All American.

Kentucky has a great player in Rhyne Howard and I look forward to the 2020-2021 women’s basketball season.
