Kentucky vs. Arizona: 1997 National Championship 3/31/1997

 Kentucky faces Arizona in the 1997 National Championship game in Indianapolis, Indiana at the RC Dome. Mike Bibby for Arizona scores the first points of them game and Kentucky responds with points of their own. Arizona up 6-5 early in the first. Scott Padgett with a 3 for Kentucky, Cats up 8-6.  Cats are tied up at 28 a piece before Jared Prickett adds two more for the Cats to make it 30-28. Arizona with a 3 to take the lead but Nazr Muhammad for Kentucky takes it back 32-31. Arizona goes into the half with a 33-32 lead over Kentucky.

Kentucky takes the lead back but Arizona takes it back. Cameron Mills ties it up at 36-36.Arizona scores and its 38-36. Arizona still with the lead at 48-47. We are tied at 50-50. Scott Padgett gives the Cats back the lead, but Arizona score to tie it again, Scott Padgett takes it back to make it 54-52. Arizona with a 3 pointer to take back the lead, 55-54. Arizona with a 3 point lead and Scott Padgett hits a 3 to tie it up at 62-62. Arizona still leads 65-64. Arizona scores 2 and Kentucky cuts it to just one, 67-66. Scott Padgett at the line to tie it and then Kentucky takes the lead, 68-67. Arizona takes the lead, 70-68. Arizona up 74-71 but Anthony Epps with a 3 to tie it at 74-74. We go into overtime!!!!!

Arizona starts the overtime at the line and still have the lead here in overtime 80-76. Arizona defeats Kentucky 82-76 in overtime to win the 1997 National Title.
