Kentucky vs. Tennessee 2018 SEC Championship : 3/11/2018

Kentucky takes on Tennessee in the 2018 SEC Championship game at the Scottrade Arena in St. Louis, MO.

 Tennessee gets things started with a bucket, but Kevin Knox responds to that with a 3 pointer for the Cats and a 3-2 lead. Shai Gilgeous Alexander with a 3 pointer of his own and they have a 6-3 lead.  Cats with another 3 and they lead 13-5. Tennessee with their first 3 of the game, Kentucky with a layup of their own and a 3 pointer by Wenyen Gabriel. Two free throws by Wenyen Gabriel makes it a 10 point game, 20-10. Kentucky with their 5th 3 pointer of game and a bucket by Kevin Knox and then a floater, 27-12 advantage for the Cats. Volunteers with another 3 to make it 33-21 Kentucky advantage.  Tennessee with back to back to back 3 pointers and its 35-27. Tennessee at the line for two free throws, they make both and they have cut it to just 5. Kentucky goes into the half with a 36-31 lead.

Tennessee is the first to get a basket in the second half, 36-33. Kentucky with a basket and then Tennessee, they get a free throw and bucket to tie it up 38-38. Vols with a 3 pointer to take the lead. Kentucky with a basket by Shai Gilgeous Alexander and the Cats with the lead and a free throw, 43-41. Kevin Knox with a 3 and the Cats are up 48-43. Vols with a 3 pointer, Kentucky still leads them 52-48. Tennessee takes the lead now, 57-55.  Cats tie it up and then they take the lead back with free throws from PJ Washington. Tennessee back up top by one, 62-61. Kentucky takes the lead back with less than 3 minutes to go; they top the Vols 68-64. Kentucky defeats Tennessee 77-72 for their 31st SEC Championship.
