Kentucky vs. North Carolina 12/14/2013

Kentucky traveled to Chapel Hill to take on North Carolina on December 14, 2013.This was their first true road game of the season.

Kentucky scores first with a basket by Aaron Harrison, James Michael McAdoo with both free throws to get them on the board. Aaron Harrison throws it to Julius Randle for the slam, Carolina ties it up, and they miss a 3 pointer. Aaron Harrison with a basket and a free throw and he has 5 points, Cats with a 7-4 lead. Cats with another basket and the Heels with back to back 3 pointers to tie us up at 9-9. Kentucky still with the lead, 14-12. Halfway through Cats with a 3 pointer and a basket to have a 19-14 advantage. Heels with a 3 pointer to be within just but Kentucky with a basket. Tar Heels with their first lead of this game, 30-25. Willie Cauley-Stein ties it up but John Calipari gets a technical sending Marcus Paige to the line, he gets both and WCS fouls, Paige gets just one for them to have a 33-30 lead at the half.

Kentucky scores first in the second  half, Heels right behind them, still with the lead but Cats within 2, 39-37 and we are tied again, 39-39. Cats take the lead back after a free throw, but Heels back in front, Cats back up top and we tie again. Back and forth between these two blue bloods as we stay tied up and the Heels up top again, 48-46. Kentucky is trying to keep it close but Carolina with a 3 pointer to make it a 60-54 game. Heels keep control of this even though Kentucky keeps trying to chip away, 66-58. James Young misses both free throws, but hits a 3 pointer for the Cats to bring them within 3, 66-63. 18th ranked North Carolina would go on to upset 11th ranked Kentucky 82-77.
