Kentucky vs. Michigan Elite Eight 2014

8th seed Kentucky faced 2seeded Michigan in the 2014 Elite Eight in the Midwest Regional at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, IN for the final spot in the 2014 Final Four.

Michigan on the board first, Andrew Harrison gets Kentucky on the board, Michigan answers to have a 4-2 lead. Wolverines with a 3 pointer give them a 9-2 lead and Kentucky responds with a basket, 9-4. Michigan just keeps adding to their lead over Kentucky as they now lead 14-6. Kentucky is now within just 2 as they get 6 unanswered points by Julius Randle and Marcus Lee, Michigan at the line for two, and makes them both, 16-12. Kentucky with an 11-4 run so far has them within one, but Michigan with a basket takes it back to 3. Michigan still with the lead less then midway, 22-19.  Wolverines with a 3 pointer, Kentucky responds with their first 3 of the game by Marcus Lee, 25-22. We are tied at 37-37 at the half.

Kentucky scores first in the second half and has their first lead of the game, 39-37. Michigan ties it but Dakari Johnson responds for the Cats giving them back the lead along with a basket from Julius Randle, Alex Poythress rebounds from the other end and after a missed jumper from Aaron Harrison and stuffs it in giving the Wolverines their largest deficit,  they respond with what they thought a 3 but only a 2. They hit a 3 to bring it within 1, Randle scores, 47-44. Kentucky still leads Michigan but they keep it close. Kentucky with a 3 pointer, Michigan with a basket, 65-63. We are tied at 72-72. Aaron Harrison with a 3 pointer and seals the victory for Kentucky as they defeat Michigan 75-72 to advance to the Final Four and face Wisconsin.
