Kentucky vs. Notre Dame Elite Eight 2015

Kentucky faced Notre Dame in the 2015 Elite Eight for a spot in the Final Four and eventually would go on to face Wisconsin in the Final Four that year.

Karl-Anthony Towns gets the Cats on the board first, Notre Dame finally on the board and they lead the Cats, 4-2. Devin Booker with a 3 pointer ties us up at 6-6. Notre Dame responds with a basket, Kentucky ties it up again at 8-8. Kentucky back up top even after ND hits a 3 pointer, 12-11. But once again ND goes back on top. With the 6th lead change of the game Notre Dame leads and Kentucky ties it up with a 3 point play by KAT, 17-17. We tie again at 19 and then the Cats take the lead back but ND ties it and then takes the lead, 22-21. Fighting Irish extend the lead but Kentucky is right behind them by 1, Andrew Harrison at the line for two, he makes them both and gives the Cats the lead. Notre Dame back up front by one. Willie Cauley-Stein stuff’s it to put the Cats back up, but Notre Dame with a basket and free throw, 31-29. We are tied at 31-31 at the half.

Kentucky starts the second half and Notre Dame is right behind us with an answer, but Devin Booker responds right back with a 3 pointer. Back and forth we go between these teams with the 14th lead change, 46-42. Kentucky keeps getting close but Notre Dame has an answer and they hit a 3 pointer to extend the lead to 59-53. Kentucky with a 3 pointer of their own, Zach August with a basket and a chance a 3 point play but he misses it and Kentucky with a dunk, 61-58. Andrew Harrison with a 3 pointer puts the Cats back up top, Notre Dame with a 3 pointer as their answer, 66-64.  Kentucky ties it up at 66-66. Andrew Harrison at the line for two, he makes both of them to seal a Kentucky victory as they defeat Notre Dame 68-66 to advance to the Final Four and remain undefeated at 38-0.
