Kentucky vs. North Carolina 1995 South Regional Final

The Kentucky Wildcats and North Carolina Tarheels went head to head back on March 25th in the 1995 South Regional Final in Birmingham, Alabama.

Kentucky with the first basket of the game by Roderick Rhodes, Carolina finally gets on the board 2 minutes in. Kentucky leads the Heels, 5-2.Kentucky with a 3 pointer adding to their lead, 8-2. With free throws for both teams Kentucky leads 10-5 after a basket by UNC. A 3 pointer makes it 13-5 for the Wildcats. Tarheels within two after going on an 8-0 run. North Carolina with their first lead but Kentucky takes it back. Cats lead 29-28, but Carolina up top 32-31 with less than 2 to go. North Carolina leads 34-31 at the half.

Both teams have scored to start the second half as the Heels lead, 36-33. Cats within one, but the Heels answers, and Jerry Stackhouse answers for a 41-35 Heel lead. Heels extend the lead over Kentucky, 46-37. Kentucky is doing everything they can to come back against UNC. They get as close a 3 but UNC answers to make it 5, 56-51. North Carolina slowly closing in on a victory over the Cats as they lead 64-58. North Carolina defeats Kentucky  74-61.
