Kentucky traveled to Athens to take on Georgia on March 7, 2013 at Stegeman Coliseum.
Kentucky with the first basket of the night, Georgia answers with a 3 pointer. Kentucky take the lead after a bucket by Willie Cauley-Stein, Cats lead 6-5. 3 pointer by Archie Goodwin and a basket from Kyle Wiltjer puts them up 11-5 over the Bulldogs. Bulldogs with a basket and the chance for 3 point play but they miss it but get a 3 pointer. Kentucky with a one of two free throws and the Bulldogs with a 3 pointer, 14-13. Bulldogs with the lead but Kentucky responds going back up front. Bulldogs with a basket then they make 3 free throws to lead the Cats 20-16. Two more free throws for the Bulldogs to make it a 6 point lead, 22-16. Cats close it in to just 3 with the Bulldogs leading 25-22. Jon Hood with a basket brings the Cats within just one, but a 3 pointer from Georgia takes it back up to four, a 3 pointer before the buzzer gives Georgia a 31-26 lead at the half.
Kentucky starts the second half off with a basket, Georgia with free throws, Ryan Harrow with a 3 pointer, Cats within one, 33-31.Bulldogs on a 4-0 run to be up 37-31. Bulldogs up 44-36 with a Wildcat 3 pointer and several UGA baskets. Archie Goodwin with a basket for the Cats but the Bulldogs hit a 3 pointer. Wildcats still trail the Bulldogs, 50-44. Kyle Wiltjer with a 3 pointer for the Cats and they haven’t scored since Bulldogs on an 8-0 run and have a 60-47 lead. Georgia will defeat Kentucky 72-62.
