Kentucky vs. Notre Dame 1/31/1988

 Kentucky took on Notre Dame at Freedom Hall in Louisville on 1/31/1988.

Notre Dame with the first basket as they lead 2-0, Winston Bennett makes both free throws for the cats to tie it up, 2-2.Gary Voce at the line, he makes both, Kentucky with a 3 pointer to take the lead, 5-4.  Fighting Irish take the lead over the Cats after David Rivers makes both free throws, 9-7. All tied up at 11-11. Rex Chapman with a basket to give the Cats the lead, but ND answers back and we have our 6th tie of the game. Kentucky now with the lead after a 3 pointer and several more points, 25-20. Rex Chapman with a 3 pointer giving the Cats an 8 point advantage, 28-20. Chapman with a basket, Cats lead 32-28. Kentucky leads 38-30 at the half over Notre Dame.

Notre Dame gets the first points of the second half, Kentucky responds with a basket by Rex Chapman, 40-32.  Fighting Irish now within 3 of Kentucky, 42-39. Kentucky with another spurt here in the second half, 47-39. Kentucky keeps their lead over Notre Dame 53-45.  Kentucky defeats Notre Dame 78.-69
