August 6th NBA Recap

New Orleans vs. Sacramento

We start off today with a matchup between New Orleans and Sacramento. You have Zion Williamson for the Pelicans who are looking for more minutes for the rookie out of Duke after not so many minutes the first two games which were losses for the Pelicans, but got a win over Memphis. Sacramento is looking for a win as they are 0-3 so far in the NBA restart. NOP 29-38, SAC 28-39.

 (SAC) De’Aaron Fox played for 37:18 minutes in the 140-125 win against the Pelicans; he scored 30 points along with 3 rebounds, 10 assists, 3 steals, and 1 block.

Both New Orleans and Sacramento are 29-39

Miami vs. Milwaukee

Milwaukee is coming off a stunning 119-116 loss to the Nets, who were actually a 19 point underdog to Milwaukee. The Bucks have lost five of their past six games overall including games in March before the pandemic, they have not lost consecutive games all season, former Cats Eric Bledsoe is returning after an injury that kept him from playing the past 3 games. Miami is 2-0 against Milwaukee this season, who are without start player Jimmy Butler, but former Cat, Bam Adebayo is stepping up along with a few other Heat players with his absence, they are 6-6 without him. Bucks are 54-14, Heat is 43-25.

Heat player, Tyler Herro played for 33:16 minutes, he scored 20 points, and had 4 rebounds, 5 assists, and 1 steal and Bam Adebayo played for 21:57 minutes but only had 6 points, along with 5 rebounds, 6 assists, and 1 steal.

Eric Bledsoe returned to action against the Heat, he played for 23:06 and had 9 points,8 rebounds, 5 assists and 2 steals in the Milwaukee 130-116 win over Miami

Milwaukee goes to 55-14, Miami 43-26

Indiana vs. Phoenix

Both Indiana and Phoenix are undefeated to start the restart being 3-0. Indiana’s TJ Warren had a great game against Orlando having 32 points, having 119 points total in a three game span, his teammates were pretty impressed. Warren is not the only player who was impressive that day, Devin Booker of the Suns shot a last minute shot against the Clippers on Tuesday to give the Suns a 117-115 win. Booker had 27 points against the Wizards, 30 against the Mavericks, and 35 against the Clippers.

Suns move to 30-39, Pacers 42-27

Clippers vs. Mavericks

Both the Clippers and Mavericks have struggled to close out their games in the NBA bubble, both teams are 1-2. Mavericks have fallen to Houston 153-149 in OT and Phoenix 117-115, but have 114-110 overtime win over Sacramento this Tuesday. Clippers lost the bubble opener to rival Lakers, 103-101 and 117-115 to Phoenix, but defeated New Orleans 126-103.

(LAC) Patrick Patterson played for 15:46 minutes, scored 6 points, and 1 rebound in the Clippers 126-111 victory over Dallas.

Clippers move to 46-22, Mavs goes to 41-30

Portland vs. Denver

Portland defeated Denver 125-115

Portland moves to 32-28 and Denver goes to 45-24

Lakers vs. Rockets

Lakers have now lost back to back games after clinching the 1 seed in the Western Conference against the Utah Jazz on Monday, they lost to Oklahoma City, Wednesday and now have lost to Houston 113-97 as well, they move to 51-17, Rockets lost to Portland on Tuesday but win tonight against the Lakers, they move to 43-25.

Anthony Davis played for 29:38 minutes, scoring just 17 points, but he had 12 rebounds, 3 assists, and 1 block
