Western Conference Final
Denver is once again down 3-1 as they face Los Angeles in Game 5 of the WCF. Lakers could end this series with a win and head to the Finals or Denver can make a comeback like their other two conference series and force a Game 6.
Denver on the board first with a 3 pointer made by Jokic, but Lakers on the board right behind them with a bucket from Dwight Howard, Jokic with a basket for the Nuggets to have a 5-2 lead. Then the Lakers lead for a little bit, Nuggets take it back and it’s back and forth and the Lakers lead by 3 after one, 33-30. There have been 6 ties and 9 lead changes in the first quarter alone.
Denver with a basket to start off the second quarter, but Lakers gets one to and Denver answers to be within just one, 35-34. Lakers run off with their lead as they go up by 8, 44-36 going on an 11-2 run. Lakers lead 61-51 at the half.
Lakers maintain their lead the entire third quarter, Nuggets within just 7. Nuggets within two and Jamal Murray with 2 free throws to tie it up and Anthony Davis hits a 3 pointer for the Lakers to have an 87-84 lead after three.
This is now a win or go home situation for the Nuggets as the fourth is all they have. Kyle Kuzma starts the fourth off with a 3 pointer for the Lakers, Denver with a bucket. Lakers still lead but Denver is staying close. Lakers are closing in on their win as a chance for the Nuggets is just dwindling. Lakers defeat Denver 117-107 as the Lakers advance to the NBA Finals. They will face the Heat or Celtics for a chance for their first title in 10 years.
