NBA Final Game 1 Preview

The NBA Finals have been set as it will be the Number 1 ranked Los Angeles Lakers taking on the Number 5 ranked Miami Heat.  This will be the first time that the Lakers and Heat will play each other in the NBA Finals. LeBron James won two titles with Miami and is now facing his former team. Miami played the Lakers twice in the regular season and lost both games and did not face each other in the bubble so this is the first time they’ll face each other on a neutral floor.

Los Angeles Lakers

The No. 1 ranked Lakers have a 52-19 record and defeated Portland 4-1, Houston 4-1, and Denver 4-1 to reach the Finals for the first time since 2010. Rajon Rondo will be playing in his third NBA Final as he played with the Celtics twice and won it in 2008 with them. This will be Anthony Davis’s first ever NBA Final and chance for an NBA Championship as the Lakers go for their 17th NBA Championship.

Miami Heat

The No. 5 ranked Miami Heat have a 44-29 record and defeated Indiana 4-0, Milwaukee 4-1, and Boston 4-2 to reach the Finals for the first time since 2014. Rookie Tyler Herro and up and coming star Bam Adebayo  will get to play in their first ever NBA Final and a chance at an NBA Championship as the Heat are on the look for their fourth NBA Championship.

My prediction for the 2020 NBA Finals is that the Miami Heat will win it all and the series will go to 6 games.

I look forward to this series of the Lakers and Heat as we have four former Cats with Anthony Davis & Rajon Rondo for the Lakers and Tyler Herro and Bam Adebayo with the Heat.

First game is this Wednesday at 9 p.m.  ET on ABC
