Kentucky snaps 17 game losing streak at Tennessee

The last time Kentucky defeated Tennessee in Neyland Stadium was back in 1984. Kentucky has lost 17 straight games to the Volunteers but today they broke the streak defeating Tennessee 34-7.
The Wildcats forced four turnovers, returning two interceptions scoring their first touchdown of the first quarter, and went on to score the next 17 points of the third and fourth quarter to be in blowout territory.
It was Kentucky’s defense that led the way in the first quarter, but their offense struggled early, their defense with a rare back to back pick-six that would lead to the Wildcats first touchdown, a 41 yard by Kelvin Joseph. Another touchdown followed by a field goal gives the Wildcats a 17-0 lead. Tennessee would get their one and only touchdown by Guarantano, for a 17-7 halftime lead for the Cats.
The Kentucky offense got their rhythm in the third, they marched down the field as Terry Wilson connected with Allen Dailey to score a touchdown giving the Cats a 24- 7 lead in the third. The Cats got a 49-yard field goal and a 2-yard touchdown to seal the victory for Kentucky.
