Kentucky bounces back in fourth to defeat Kansas State; wins for SEC in SEC/Big 12 Challenge

Kentucky starts the third quarter with a layup to tie the game. Back and forth with the lead as K State leads by three, 36-33. Back to back free throws for Blair Green and a layup for Dre’Una Edwards puts the Cats back up top, but Kansas State answers with a 3 pointer to take back the lead. Kentucky takes back the lead after a jumper by Rhyne Howard and a 3 pointer from Blair Green, K State answers with a layup to be within one, 42-41. Kentucky ends the third quarter with a free throw from KeKe McKinney for a 43-41 lead.

Kansas State takes the lead back with a 3 pointer, but Kentucky responds with a basket, 45-44. Cats take the lead back after a layup from Dre’Una Edwards, K State with a 3 pointer to tie up the game.  Kentucky’s up 51-49 over K State. Kentucky goes on a 9-0 run in the last few minutes of the fourth to defeat Kansas State 60-49.

Kentucky moves to 3-0 and gets a win for the SEC in the SEC/Big 12 Challenge.

Kentucky heads back home to host Indiana at Memorial Coliseum this Sunday.
