Kentucky moved up in the ranks after staying at #11 after week 1, Week 2 they moved up to #9. Kentucky is continuing their home slate as they host Marshall at Memorial Coliseum. The Lady Cats are coming off a comeback win over #13 Indiana, they return to their home court this Wednesday hosting the Thundering Herd at 7 p.m. ET on SEC Network+.
The Cats are coming off a 72-68 win over 13th ranked Indiana; they trailed by 13 at halftime and even trailed by as much as fourteen in the first half, but they rallied with outscoring the Hoosiers 49-32 which includes 28-14 just in the fourth quarter. Junior Rhyne Howard bounced back from her rough start in her season opening game against Kansas State, she scored 22 points, joining her is Chasity Patterson with 13 points, Dre’Una Edwards with 14 points, and 10 rebounds, and Robyn Benton scored 12 points. Marshall started their season on Sunday and got a 69-58 win over Radford.
This will be the 17th all over meeting between Kentucky and Marshall, 10th time in Lexington. The Cats are 14-2 overall against Marshall, which includes 9-0 at home. Kentucky has won the last three meetings and Marshall’s two wins were at home in 1996 and 1998. Their last meeting was November 26th, 2017, where the Cats earned a 69-39 victory at Memorial. The Cats own a 62-33 record against the C-USA.
