Kentucky defeats Mississippi State in double-overtime thriller to pick up a much needed win

Mississippi State starts the second quarter off with a basket, BJ Boston with  one out of two free throws and Mintz and Boston with back to back baskets and Mississippi State still leads as they have a 42-35 lead. Mississippi goes on a good run to be up by as much as 9, leading 50-41. But the Cats make a short comeback 55-53. Dontaie Allen with a 3 pointer puts the Cats back up top 56-55, but that’s short lived after Miss State gets a basket or two. Kentucky went on a 10-0 run after Coach Calipari was ejected from the game. Got a much needed 3 pointer from Dontaie Allen to tie up the game, Mississippi State with a basket to take lead again. Kentucky ties it again with not much left in the game, and we go into overtime here in Starkville.

Mississippi State with the first basket of overtime, Kentucky finally gets a basket after Miss State got a free throw. Tied up again at 65 a piece, a 3 pointer for Kentucky gives them the lead, Miss State answers right back with another tie. Dontaie Allen has six three pointers so far, five of them after halftime. We go into a second overtime with a tie game of 68-68.

Olivier Sarr with a 3 pointer to start the second overtime, Miss State makes both free throws. Mintz with a jump shot followed by a 3 pointer from Dontaie Allen as the Cats have the lead over Miss State, Kentucky defeats Mississippi State 78-73 in double overtime.
