Mississippi State scores first to start out the third quarter by tying up the game but Kentucky responds right back, Miss State ties it up once more, Kentucky answers with a 3 pointer then a layup. Miss State with back to back baskets then ties it again. Kentucky layup puts them back up top but Miss State comes up with an answer to take back the lead 57-54 and they take a 59-57 lead after three.
Mississippi State with a jumper to start out the fourth, Kentucky answers with a 3 pointer, but Miss State hits a basket followed by a free throw and a layup to go ahead by 6 but Kentucky answers with a 3 pointer by Rhyne Howard and a layup. Miss State answers with a 3 pointer, Kentucky with a layup followed by a free throw. Miss State answers with a jumper and free throw as they lead 72-68. Kentucky gets a free throw, but Miss State answers with a 3 pointer, Rhyne Howard answers right back with one of her own getting the Cats within 3, Jazmine Massengill ties us up with a 3 pointer, 75-75. Rhyne Howard gives us the lead with another 3 pointer and Miss State gets two free throws to tie it up at 78-78 which leads to overtime.
Mississippi State starts the overtime with jumpers back to back, Kentucky answers with a 3 pointer, a Miss State basket then a Kentucky basket. Kentucky ties it up then they take the lead back with a layup and free throw, 87-84. Miss State basket followed by 2 Kentucky free throws and then three more for the Cats to defeat Mississippi State 92-86 in overtime.
