20th ranked Kentucky is coming off their most arguably most complete performance of the year as they defeated 16th ranked Tennessee. Now they look to keep this mentality going as they head to Gainesville to take on Florida tomorrow night. This game tip offs at 7 p.m. ET and is televised on SEC Network.
The Cats earned a 71-56 win over Tennessee this past Thursday in Rupp Arena; they dominated the game minus the third quarter. Kentucky won the first quarter over Tennessee 13-11, the second 24-15, and fourth 25-9, but the Lady Vols won the third quarter 21-9. The Cats went ten out of sixteen from the field in the fourth, which included five of five from the long range, sealing the win for them. Florida is also coming off a great performance as they got overtime win over LSU on the road. The Gators are 7-3 at home. Their wins in league play are against LSU, Auburn, and Ole Miss.
Chasity Patterson led the Cats in scoring getting 21 points and five rebounds. Jazmine Massengill had the best game of her career scoring 11 points. Rhyne Howard scored just 8 points, but had 7 rebounds, 6 assists, and 7 steals.
Monday will be the 59th meeting between Kentucky and Florida, where Kentucky leads the all time series, 32-26. They have 13-10 mark in Gainesville and have won five of the last six, but have lost two of the last four in Gainesville.
