Kentucky will close out the season hosting Ole Miss at Memorial Coliseum, a win over the Lady Rebels will allow Kentucky to clinch a double-bye in the SEC Tournament to play on Friday. They clinched part of it with their 62-58 victory over Georgia this past Thursday. Kentucky will honor their two seniors, Chasity Patterson and Kameron Roach before tipoff. The game against Ole Miss will tipoff at Noon ET and be televised on SEC Network.
Chasity Patterson has started every game this season and has played in over 40 games in her career at Kentucky. Just this season, she averages 13 points per game, along with 62 assists. She leads the SEC and ranks in the top 5 nationally with 70 steals, which has made her a semifinalist for the 2021 Naismith Defensive Player of the Year award. She will graduate this May with a degree in media arts and studies and plans on pursuing professional basketball after the season.
Kameron Roach has played in 34 games in her four years here at Kentucky and has been an ultimate team mate since arriving four years ago. She has played in just 6 games so far this season, her best being against Wofford, scoring five points and a 3 pointer. Kameron already graduated in December with her bachelor’s in kinesiology and health promotion and is currently pursuing her masters in the same field.
KeKe McKinney and Tatyana Wyatt have opted to return with the additional year of eligibility, and will not participate in this year’s Senior Day. McKinney is planning on pursuing her Master’s degree and play in the 2021-2022 season, Wyatt is unsure of her athletic career but will continue her academic career.
This Sunday will mark the 44th overall meeting between Kentucky and Ole Miss, where the Rebels lead the all times series with Kentucky, 24-19. The Rebels defeated Kentucky 70-62 earlier this season in Oxford. But Kentucky leads the series played in Lexington, 10-9.
