Kentucky vs. Bellarmine

Bellarmine starts the first inning by with a strike out from Josh. Finerty. Clayton Mehlbauer with a home run gets the Knights on the board first. Chris Gambert fouls out to center and Jacob Mulcahy strikes out ending the inning for Bellarmine to have just a 1-0 lead. Austin Schultz flies out to right field, Oraj Anu reaches base on a throwing error, John Rhodes hits a Big Blue Bomb out to left field and scores in Oraj Anu to give the Cats a 2-1 lead in the first. TJ Collett strikes out, Trae Harmon singles to left field to get on base, and Coltyn Kessler walks but Reuben Church flies out to right field ending the first inning as the Cats will lead 2-1.

Davis Crane grounds out to first base; Justin Rouse is hit by a pitch to walk. Tommy Dilz grounds out but this allows Justin Rouse to advance to second, but Patrick Arndt flies out to center field. Kentucky comes to the plate with Cole Estep doubles down the left field line to reach second base, Ryan Ritter grounds out, with Austin Schultz walking. Oraj Anu singles to second with Schultz going to second and Estep to third. John Rhodes with a SAC fly and he scores in Chase Estep for another run for the Cats, and TJ Collett fouls out for the Cats to have a 3-1 lead after two.

Bellarmine starts the third off with a walk from Robert Sprout followed by a ground out from Josh Finerty allowing Sprout to second. Clayton Mehlbauer strikes out and Chris Gambert grounds out.  Kentucky with an out to start the bottom of the third, Coltyn Kessler with a single out to center field. Reuben Church reaches base on a fielder’s choice with Kessler getting out in between second and third. Chase Estep ends the inning after flying out to left field.

 Jacob Mulcahy strikes out to start the fourth, Davis Crane doubles to center field. Justin Rouse strikes out swinging but Tommy Dilz doubles to left field scoring in Davis Crane, but Patrick Ardnt flies out to left field only allowing the Knights to get one run, 3-2. Ryan Ritter singles to center followed by Austin Schultz flying out to center field and Ritter out at second. Oraj Anu singles to second and John Rhodes reaches first on a fielder’s choice but Bellarmine gets Anu out at second.

Robert Sprout strikes out, Josh Finerty strikes out as well, and Clayton Mehlbauer strikes out.  TJ Collett starts the fifth by striking out, but Trae Harmon singles to left center to get on base for the Cats. Coltyn Kessler grounds out in a double play and Trae Harmon is out on the play.

Chris Gambert singles to short stop to get on base. Jacob Mulcahy singles to left and Gambert will advance to second. Davis Crane flies out to center field but Gambert advances to third. Justin Rouse grounds out and Mulcahy to second base, Tommy Dilz grounds out the pitcher. Reuben Church flies out to center field, but Chase Estep triples to center field to get to third base. Ryan Ritter singles to short stop and scores in Chase Estep for a Kentucky run. Austin Schultz will single to left field and Ryan Ritter advances to second, just one out so far. Oraj Anu flies out to center field, John Rhodes reaches base on a fielder’s choice but Austin Schultz gets out at second.

Patrick Arndt starts off the inning by popping out to Jimmy Ramsey. Robert Sprout walks and then steals second and advances to third and scores a run for the Knights. Josh Finerty fouls out and Chris Gambert grounds out to trail Kentucky 4-3. Bellarmine is not allowing Kentucky to score here in the seventh as TJ Collett strikes out swinging and Trae Harmon strikes out as well, and Coltyn Kessler will ground out.

Seth Logue isn’t allowing the Knights to score so far here in the eighth as Chris Gambert flies out to right field and Jacob Mulcahy strikes out swinging and Davis Crane strikes out. Bellarmine will not allow Kentucky to score as Reuben Church flies out to second base, Chase Estep grounds out to short stop, and Ryan Ritter flies out to center field.

 Justin Rouse singles to right field, Tommy Dilz reaches first on a fielder’s choice with Rouse out at second. Ockerman gets out at second as he was caught stealing. Patrick Arndt strikes out swinging.

Final Kentucky 4, Bellarmine 3

Kentucky will head to Starkville to take on Mississippi State starting on Thursday.
