Kentucky makes history for conference, school, and program by winning first National Championship

Texas is on the board first with a kill, Alli Stumler answers with a kill and so does Avery Skinner. Texas goes on a 3-0 run leading Kentucky 4-2 but Avery Skinner gets the Cats a point with a kill, but Texas answers right back. Kentucky gets back to back points to tie things up but Texas answers and so does Kentucky as they keep it close but the Longhorns lead 14-10. Kentucky scores out of the time out but so does Texas. The Cats closed the gap but Texas has run off with a 21-16 lead. Kentucky tries to get close but Texas will take the first set, 25-20.

Kentucky takes the first two points before Texas gets on the board, Kentucky answers adn Texas catches right up to tie things. Kentucky with two more in a row and they lead 7-5. Kentucky with a complete turn around here in the second set as they lead  20-13, Kentucky bounces back and takes the second set, 25-18.

Texas is on the board first this time with a kill by Lauren Fields, Alli Stumler answers with a kill of her own. Back and forth we go as Texas is keeping it really close this set, as they have gotten three aces and the Longhorns go on a 3-0 run, but Kentucky ends that short streak with a kill from Alli Stumler. Kentucky and Texas are neck and neck as Kentucky will score and Texas will answer and then tie things up but Kentucky takes a 15-13 lead. Kentucky takes the third set as well, 25-23.

Kentucky scores the first point, but Texas has gotten three in a row and then add three more to lead 6-1. Kentucky finally has answered with a few points but Texas is holding their ground as they lead 8-4. After the Cats trail they have gotten it as close as 12-11 but Kentucky is staying on them and ties it up and then will take the lead. Texas is keeping it close like they did in the last set. Kentucky wins the fourth set 25-22.

Kentucky wins the 2020 National Championship, the first ever volleyball national championship for the SEC and Kentucky.
