Kentucky vs. LSU: Game 1

Aliyah Andrews with a base hits, she gets to first, Briggs follows her with a base hit for Andrews to advance to second and she steals third. Taylor Pleasant with a three run-home run puts LSU on the board first here in the first to lead 3-0, no outs. Kentucky changes pitchers as Grace Baalman comes in and shuts the door ending LSU’s threat. Kayla Kowalik hits a home run to get Kentucky on the board but trail 3-1 after one. LSU gets bases loaded,with one out and Baalman, Kowalik, and Peyton with a 1-2-3 play to get the Cats out of a jam, Tigers still lead, 3-1. Mallory Peyton with a solo home run to cut the lead to just one after two. A walk and home run for the Tigers adds two more, Tatum Spangler singles but reaches second as Kowalik reaches third and then score on an error to make it 5-3 after three. Megan Cummins with a SAC fly to center field allows Doyle to score, Sunseri doubles down the right field line, Doyle to third and Gutierrez scores for the Tigers to lead 7-3, Tatum Spangler with a Sac fly scores in Rylea Smith for the Cats to get a run, they trail LSU 7-4 after five. Doyle singles through left, Pleasants scores a run and Sunseri doubles to left field for Doyle and Gutierrez to score as the Tigers go up 10-4. Kentucky with bases loaded, they get a run across, Lauren Johnson with a double brings in two more in the seventh.

LSU takes the first game of our doubleheader today, evening things up, rubber match with a first pitch at 3:15 p.m. ET on SEC Network+
