Kentucky has been on a roll here lately, they defeated 10th ranked Florida in Lexington for the first time since 1986 and then went on to defeat LSU to move to 6-0 for the first time since 1950. They also became bowl eligible for the sixth time under Mark Stoops where they have a 3-2 record. Kentucky and Georgia are the only two SEC teams left to be undefeated and Kentucky is one of thirteen teams undefeated after 6 weeks. Kentucky is going into week seven 6-0 overall and 4-0 in the SEC, 2nd in SEC East. Next up, Georgia, who is also undefeated, 6-0 overall and 4-0 in SEC, they are #1 in SEC East. Georgia is coming off a 34-10 win over Auburn and they took over the #1 spot after Alabama suffered a 41-38 loss to Texas A&M.
The game between Kentucky and Georgia is a big one in the SEC but also nationally as we are halfway through the season and both of these teams are the only undefeated teams in the SEC. The winner of this game will be a favorite to win the SEC East and take a trip to Atltanta for the SEC Championship in December. This will be a historic day for the SEC East, as this will mark the first time since the SEC split into divisions that the two SEC East teams played being undefeated. Normally Florida and Tennessee play early in the season and Florida and Georgia usually have one loss. But this will mark the first matchup of 6-0 teams since 1992.
