Kentucky has had back to back dominating wins over North Carolina in the CBS Sports Classic back on the 18th, the Tar Heels replaced Kentucky original opponent Ohio State after the Buckeyes had to pull out due to COVID issues in their program, and UCLa who was suppose to be the Heels opponent also had to pull out due to COVID. Just four days later Kentucky found themselves in the same predicament when in-state rival Louisville had to postponed due to COVID in their program,Louisville who faced Kentucky’s then new opponent Western Kentucky played against the Hilltoppers without their top player who was out due to COVID protocols. Coach Calipari announced on his show last Monday that Kentucky would be hosting in-state team Western Kentucky from Bowling Green, KY. Bowling Green was one of the towns that was hit hard during the tornadoes that happened about 2 weeks ago on Christmas Eve. Kentucky would defeat UNC 98-69 and just four days later defeat in-state team Western Kentucky, 95-60.
Kentucky moved up just one spot in AP Poll last week to #20, they move up two more spots to #18 as they will host Missouri on Wednesday to open up SEC play and then close out their non- conference schedule till late January hosting High Point on New Years Eve.
