Kentucky Annouces Plans for the Alumni Game

Kentucky’s Alumni Charity game will take place on August 25th this year and will include two great games. The first will be a “Ledgends” game with the likes of Rex Chapman, Kenny Walker, Tony Delk, Keith Bogans, and more! That starts at 7 and the second game will pit two teams of Kentucky pros against each other. So, it looks like the wishes of Coach Cal won’t come true and we won’t be taking on a “NBA” super team. Let’s be honest though, a team of all Kentucky pros will be pretty stacked!

Prices for tickets range from $5 – $500 and they go on sale on Friday. I always enjoy this event and hope all the fans come out and fill Rupp Arena for a good cause!

Top 5 Basketball Recruit has UK in top Schools

Cam Reddish is a 5 Star SF from Norristown, PA. It looks like he is a Duke lean right now but never count out John Calipari. The 6’8″ forward has done nothing but show out during the circuit including a 44 point performance at the Peach Jam.

Let’s all hope that Coach Cal can pull this one out and bring this guy to the right Blue and White.

Get to Know Josh Roberts

Josh Roberts may not be on the top of any recruiting sites YET, but, with one more year before taking his talents to the NCAA, he has all the talent and opportunities to become the signature player on any college program. Thanks to a friend who saw Josh playing on a cruise ship, I was lucky enough to get the chance to interview this great young man with a whole lot of talent!
Q: Have you been in any contact from coaches or staff from Kentucky?

A: I haven’t but my AAU coach talked to one of the coaches and they said they are interested.

Q: What makes Kentucky a team that interest you?

A: I grew up a Kentucky fan and the program is just so amazing from the fan base to the coaches. Coach Calapari develops players into pros and they win. Best program in the country!

Q: Do you believe you can be a one and done?

A: Yes, I do believe so! This year I will be going to Montverde and they will help me develop as a basketball player. They are going to help me become a better ball handler and jump shooter and with those two things I think I can be unstoppable.

Q: Who is your favorite player in the NBA today?

A: Kevin Durant and Willie Cauley-Stein

Q: What kind of plans do you have the rest of this summer?

A: I got Peach Jam this week and Victor Oladipo camp the following week.

Q: If you had to be something other than a basketball player, what would you want to be?

A: Probably a police officer

Q: What’s your favorite restaurant and what do you order?

A: I like so many restaurants lol! I usually always get a bacon cheeseburger!

I really appreciate Josh giving me the time to talk to him and get some information for the BBN to digest. If you look at 247 he is listed as a three-star SF with offers from Georgia, Auburn, Wichita State, UMass, and more. Make sure to go follow him on Twitter @j0shua015

A point guard that likes John Calipari, sound familiar?

Immanuel Quickely has been one of the most talked about (at least by Kentucky fans as of late) point guards in next years incoming class and the talk continues.

Today he posted on his social media just how much he likes Kentucky head coach and USA head coach John Calipari. “Learning from the best” sounds like a line we hear past and current Kentucky players often say about Cal.

This can only mean good things for Kentucky fans though, right?

He had already said previously that Kentucky was the favorite in his recruitment and that John Calipari had an edge by coaching him now on Team USA.

Come on down Immanuel.

John Calipari has been coaching Team USA for a little bit now, winning two games already in pre-play. USA took down Iran 108-48 and Angola 109-68, next on the list is Italy.

The roster consists of two current Wildcats in P.J. Washington and Hamidou Diallo in which have had double doubles in both games.

It can be streamed online on FIBA’s website or also on their YouTube channel, where both sites also consist of full replays and highlights from the games.

John Calipari shoots down even more rumors about him leaving for the NBA

NCAA FINAL FOUR CHAMPIONSHIP GAME

2AM in Egypt and John Calipari can’t sleep for more NBA rumors.

Ian Begley of ESPN threw out a statement earlier this evening about John Calipari calling the Knicks for their open job. He then said however, that the Knicks didn’t want Cal though.

Everything about this seemed wrong, the timing, the fact they didn’t want Cal, the fact that he was in another country, all of it.

Being it was 2AM in Egypt, Cal couldn’t quickly knock of this rumor like all the others. BBN, well some of them began to freak out and think it was actually true because, why not? Losing someone (or in this case even the thought of losing someone) so important to us would sting. I just couldn’t by into this one being true though.

Cal has said multiple upon multiple times he would be at Kentucky for a long time, maybe even retire, or at least see his son through college here.

Fast forward until 5AM in Egypt and nearly midnight here and Cal shut it down. He took to twitter yet again:

Looks like Big Blue Nation doesn’t have anything to worry about, at least for awhile or a long time according to Cal.

He jokingly said he can’t he even escape the rumors, even in another country.

To add insult to everyone else, he even said one of his famous quotes- “I like my team” and his USA team too
