Today the NCAA gave Louisville its ruling on the Stripper Scandal that has been hanging ominously over the program since Katina Powell graced us all with her book “Breaking Cardinal Rules“.
Pitino gets 5 ACC games suspension and they possibly will lose the 2013 banner!
Kentucky beat NC State last night 10-5 and will move on to face Louisville in the Super Regional! It’s a best of 3 series and will be played in Louisville. Congratulations to the guys, now, let’s beat the Cards!!!
This guy is just burying his head in the sand now!
Louisville will have to wait til selection Sunday to see exactly where they will be playing and what seed they’ll be. It looks like they will possibly be a 3 seed and probably in our bracket.
For the second time in his Kentucky career John Calipari has lost to the Louisville Cardinals. Now, is it Championship or bust? Has Cal lost his touch any? Will we end up in the NIT this year like we did the last time we lost to Louisville in the regular season? How will these young men respond? We shall see.
Louisville can not take a step without stepping into a scandal. The latest is being dubbed #WakeyLeaks. What it boils down to is that a Wake Forrest media member gave a Louisville assistant some of the plays Wake Forrest could run. The assistant then in turn gave that information to the defensive coaches. So, ethically Louisville didn’t live up to what I’m sure they teach the young men and women that attend school at U of L. This in itself is a huge black eye, but, Louisville can’t help but make things worse. Bobby Petrino was asked in an interview with Mike and Mike, Did his staff have the Wake Forrest game plan? His response was, “I can tell you that we didn’t … I don’t really understand what they’re talking about. I heard about it right before we got on the plane to leave. But I can assure you that we prepare each week the way that you’re supposed to prepare, and I like the fact that our team knows how to do that.” Of course, Tom Jurich made headlines when he admitted that they received that information and it was passed on to the defensive coaches. He says that Wake Forrest didn’t run any of those plays that they received though. I like how he ended the whole thing with this statement, “I’m disappointed that this issue has brought undue attention to our staff as we prepare for our upcoming bowl game.”
I think it looks bad that they lied and Bobby lied because well….it’s Louisville and U of L obviously stands for University of Lairs. I also think it’s bad because Jurich doesn’t seem to even care that they tried to cheat. I’m not sure how many programs in the nation would keep their “big three” (AD, football head coach, and basketball head coach), together like Louisville has so far. One of my favorite quotes about this scandal comes from Michael Rosenberg from SI.com, Louisville tried to cheat. It’s right there in Jurich’s own statement! Are we supposed to give Louisville a pass because Jurich says Wake Forest didn’t use the plays? I mean, if you try to run over a guy with your car and you knock over a tree instead, are we supposed to applaud you for your logging skills?
This guy has brought so much swag to this program! Gotta love this move and it’s great seeing the party in the locker room!!
